They have short-listed the following cricketers and the fans need to choose two opening batsmen, three midd-order batsmen, one all-rounder, one wicket-keeper and four bowlers in their line-up.

India’s batting has continued to look good, and with the return of the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh, there cannot be too much doubt that the side will be bolstered. Yes, the Indians have issues with the first Test match if series, but the good thing is that half the side has already had an extended net session in the form of the Test series in West Indies, which should play its part in matters easier.

So India have won the series against West Indies. With slightly better luck they would have even won all three Test matches but rains refused to relent, robbing the second and the third Test match of many overs and in the end, the Indians would need to be content with only a draw apiece.

The Sri Lankan Premier League has bitten the dust. The first edition has, in any case. The Sri Lankan board officials, consisting of the newly formed committee have decided, in conjunction with their marketing/administrative arm, the Somerset Entertainment Ventures, have announced that the SLPL will now be held in August 2012. Earlier, the plan was to have the tournament in July 2011.

It is a surprise that in this day and age, the cricket broadcaster has made a basic error like doling out a wrong action replay to the third umpire. On the first day of the second Test match, MS Dhoni was out, caught by the mid-on fielder, but the on-field umpire stopped Dhoni from returning back.

The format and the schedule for the third edition of the Champions League T20 is out and the ten teams will be divided into two groups of five apiece. The two teams from IPL, Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians will be in the same group while the third IPL side, Royal Challengers Bangalore will be in the other group.

It is difficult to look away and talk down the manner in which the Indian batsmen have gone about their business in West Indies so far. In what will be a major relief to all those supporters of the DRS, the ICC's chief executives' committee has decided in the ICC annual meeting that the DRS will be used mandatorily for all the games in a tweaked format. The tweak will be around the making of using Hot-Spot mandatory but there will be no usage of ball-tracking technology if the boards do not agree to it.
