Movies: Delhi Belly Review

It's hip to be abusive, and it's as cool to be liberal about sex as it is to be about farts. And that's exactly what Delhi Belly is - hip. It might not have umpteen cool ways to turn the camera, but it is right up there with Gen X in its slang and attitude. In its way, Delhi Belly is Dil Chahta Hai for a generation that's 10 years younger - where women might also enjoy a guy film as much as the guy next to her, laughing his guts out. Oh yeah, and don't take your parents for this one.

Movies: Bbuddah Hoga tera baap

Bbuddah Hoga tera baap brazenly declares that this is a tribute to the legend and his prime years. Once you have done that, they could have gotten away with anything. They didn’t necessarily need a story or characterization. But they give you that and Amitabh Bachchan unlimited. Unfortunately, though the narration is falls flat every once in a while. And a tribute to the 70s-80s suffers from all the loopholes that a film from then had.

Movies: Love Express Review

A brain-dead love story. A mind-numbing experience. Something that I won't call the worst I have seen only because I've seen worse.

Movies: Shaitan Review

I can care for a character if there's both good and evil within him/her. If I don't see the evil side, it scares me. If don't see the good side, what's my motivation to care? Shaitan doesn't explore any fights within, it's just one devil versus the other. If it weren't for the brilliant performances, Shaitan would look like it's Director, Bejoy nambiar and producer, Anurag Kashyap's urge to sew plainly written scenes with quirky treatements

Movies: Kuch Luv Jaisa Review

When Kucch Luv Jaisaa started, I thought like Pyaar Ka Punchnaama was chicken soup for the frustrated young man's soul, this one would be just what the doctor ordered for the bored-with-Ekta-serials' souls. But, I doubt they'd see themselves run silly behind a stranger with a gun.

Movies: Stanley ka dabba review

It's warm and can make you nostalgic. It brings out irony that is part of everyday life. It comments on a blistering issue in society, but it doesn't let the issue take over the film. But it is also very slow and predictable.

Movies: Ragini MMS Review

Ragini MMS has nothing new in the general story or the details, given the genre of supernatural, horror stuff. But it has brilliant performances by both Raj Kumar Yadav and Kainaz Motivala.

Movies: Shor in the city review

Another dark comedy that deals with the grit of the city. Fortunately, it is another well-made dark comedy. Shor in the city is well-shot and has good performances. It also has a few well-developed, interesting characters. Yet, the plot gives a very "been there, seen that" feel

Movies: Chalo Dilli Review

It is one adorable road trip! Another awesome performance by Vinay Pathak & a good one by Lara Dutta too! If only there was some control on the urge to do something dramatically drastic in the second half

Movies: Zokkomon REview

Harry Potter meets Krissh meets not-so-Home-Alone, unfortunately in a very superficial, blah sort-of a way. And yet, there is enough for the under-10s to enjoy indoors on a hot summer day.

Movies: Dum Maaro Dum Review

Dum Maaro Dum makes a crime thriller as disinteresting as it could be. The lines are limp and the situations are far from creative. The plot is strung together with a series of events that have no flow.

Movies: Teen Thay Bhai Review

It's not bad just because Akshay Kumar does it. Slapstick is slapstick is slapstick - especially if it is distasteful. A fart won't be funny just because it’s a fart even if it is Om Puri's. Even our Pune roads are flatter than the lines, situations and the film in general. (That's not saying much, but even so!)

Movies: Game Review

Game was supposed to be a thriller. One which makes you sit on the edge of your seat and bite, whatever is left of, your nails from the cricket matches. It's none of that and more. It's sluggish and I have quite a few nasty things to say about its 'style'.

Movies: Monica Review

A two-hour long exposition, the climax of which you know in the first frame - given that, it wasn't all bad. You can see the sincere effort in trying to keep us interested in the events. Unfortunately, the effort is not successful because of this irrepressible urge to be stylish and muck around with the timeline in the narrative.
