India is a secular country and we enjoy the freedom to choose our religion.

There is a fine line between enjoying your freedom and impinging on the freedom of another...secularism gives rights but does also place responsibilties on the citizens.

hey i also feel that converting to another religion is ones own choice and already there has been a discussion on this topic earlier....

    http://www.rambhai.com/LetsDiscuss/Religious-Conversions-in-India-Right-Wrong/

i still feel that if ppl want to get converted by choice then its absolutely perfect but they should not be forced or lured....

denny, conversion per se is not wrong but conversion as a pre meditated agenda to convert people globally can hardly be termed religious or spiritual or free choice.

there is already a huge discussion on this, as mentioned by denny, why start another?

anyways, its a sensitive matter, and different people may have different opinions. I would just like to add that if someone changes his/her religion and the results are big communal fights and loss of lives of innocent people... then it would be better to make conversion to other religion illegal be it Hindu/Muslim/christian etc.

why stop the debate when the conversions agenda is still on? It is a debate about an ongoing issue.Conversions are sensitive issues everywhere but more so in India as religion itself is a vote bank

i can understand, but if a site has the same content at more than one place then its known as duplicate content! anyways....

And i think conversion is the choice of a person. . . And making it illegal cause few anti social elements will create problem, is not a solution. those people must be punished who are creating problem when somebody is using his/her right. . . . But still authority must keep an eye on conversion process whether its genuine or not?

Exactly shaan.Genuine conversions must be seperated from the type occuring in some parts. Also this site is just for discussion and not to impose any one point of view and to that extent it has been successful, going by the variety of comments.

That is the charm of Rambhai.com ;-)

hey as per me conversion is completely fine if it is done by choice and not by force.....

but then this thing should not be politicized and violence should not take place.....
